My first day in NY. What a nice message to stumble upon

I heart NY.

So. Why am I moving to New York? One might ask... Well. I had wanted to since I was a little girl. I was obsessed with the movie Newsies and later on, with the musical RENT. My first trip to NY was when I was 12 years old and I stayed a week longer than I was originally supposed to. I never was a big fan of Los Angeles. I moved here when I was 8 years old because I got a part on a TV sitcom called "Thunder Alley" and have just been kinda... stuck here... ever since. I had a part time job at the Standard Hotel on the Sunset Strip. My job was to sit in a glass box. "Human Art"... I met a nice guy at work, Dan Miller, who did security at the Hotel. We hung out at work but had never really done much socially. He had been asking me to hang out for a while, and finally convinced me to come see a friend of his play a show at the Hotel Cafe. It was his good friend, John McGrew, who he had gone to the University of North Carolina (Chapell Hill) with. He was in town visiting with his band. I guess it was technically my first date with Dan... but when I met John, sparks flew, and the rest is history... Actually, there is a lot more to it then that... but I'm sure if you are still reading, you're bored out of your mind by now anyway. Dan and I are still really good friends. He will go down in history as the worlds best wing man and the "take one for the team" champion. John went back to NY, but he and I talked every day and soon after that I went to visit... I never wanted to go back. John and I continued to get along but that is not the only reason for my extreme re-location. New York didn't want to let me go. I stayed for 5 days longer than I had orginally planned and when I got home, I got to work on making the move happen.
It only took me 2 weeks.
